Culture of Safety: What Dose it mean? Discuss behaviors that you can introduce/sustain in your own clinical practice to enhance a culture of safety. Safety is a very broad term and applicable to everywhere like industry , hospital etc. In industry safety means the way of protecting us from any injury and in case of clinical practise it is the act.tomprotect you , patient and surroundings from any type of injury e.g. whenever you are in operation theater , safety is that you must wear sterile gloves and everything should be sterile only due to which you and your patient is in safe mode. In industry protect yourself from the chemicals and machine injury.
Behaviour that can be introduce or sustain to develop safety in clinical practise
1. Hurry burry activity is prohibited inside the area it may give rise to incident.
2. Before performing any task you must know all the things about that like if you are going as a helper in surgery then insure that all scissors and forceps are sterile and don't touch body contact part.
3. During IV insertion make surity that you pick up right vein for insertion of needle.
4. During injection ensure your activity don't give pain to patient and other like phlebitis
5. Avoid use of multiple syringe and IV sets.
6. Avoid use of contaminated syringe and expired medicine
7. Any emergency treatment must be inform to relatives
8. Prevent yourself to get injury from needles and from sharp materials.
