Explanation / Answer

The resistor R = 215 ?

the inductor L = 0.2 H

the frequency f = 150 Hz

the maximum voltage V = 255 V

(a) The impedance in the circuit

XL = 2*pi*f*L = 188.5 ohms

            Z = ? R^2 +XL^2

               = ? (215)^2 + (2?f L)^2

               = ? [ (46225) + 35530.57

               = 285.93 ?

therefore the current I = V/Z = 255 / 285.93

                                            = 0.892 A

(b) The phase angle

              ? = tan^-1( XL/R) = tan^-1(188.5/215) = 41.24 deg
