Question

The figure shows a signle turn wire loop of radius r = 10.0cm in a magnetic field directed out of the page (the magnetic field exists over the entire page).

(There is a point |B| outside of the wire loop. The picture won't upload to chegg, the server keeps having a problem. I will keep trying to update this post and get the picture to upload if I can.)

If the magnetic field decreases in magnitude from |Bi| = 1.75T to |Bf| = 0.250T in 3.00s and the resistance of the wire is R = 2.00?, find the magnitude and direction of the induced current in the wire loop.

Explanation / Answer

induced emf(E)= rate of change of magnetic flux

=((1.75-0.25 )*pi*10^-2)/3

=1.57*10^-2

current=E/R

=0.78*10^-2 amps

direction of current is anticlock-wise
