She represented then traditional Mexican culture and was quite inept about her views on culture and the aesthetic values of the Mexican cultre,having been brought up in a traditional family she represented her traditional Mexican upbringing by speaking eloquently about the grandeur of the Chinchua tribes .
Helen Ponce was a typical Mexican representing the neo wave of Mexican tradition and modernization. Her fiction and nonfiction stories represented the changing Mexican landscape towards the modernity and also towards new forays into multiculturism. She represented the modern wave of the new Mexican community.
