Question

Hello everybody, I need a little (alotta) help with this one.
For part a, I know Fy = iL lBl sin(30) = (2.0A)(1.8m)(4.0T)sin(30) = 7.2, yet its incorrect? What am i doing wrong?

Best answer to whoever can get both these problems (including direction), and find my mistake. Thanks!

The bent wire shown in the figure below lies in a uniform magnetic field. Each straight section is 1.8 m long and makes an angle of theta = 58degree with the x axis, and the wire carries a current of 2.0 A. (a) What is the net magnetic force on the wire in unit-vector notation if the magnetic field is 4.0 k T? magnitude X N direction -y (b) What is the net magnetic force on the wire in unit-vector notation if the magnetic field is 4.01 T? magnitude N direction ---Select--- X Hello everybody, I need a little (alotta) help with this one. Explanation / Answer

apply F = iLB sin thete

hjere Theta = 90--30 = 60 deg

so

F =   (2.0A)(1.8m)(4.0T)sin(58)

F =- 12.21 j N

---------------------------------------

F = 12.21 in K direction
