Question
the speed of the planet venus in its essentially circular orbit around the sun?
so its v=sqrt GM/r i know.... but my question is
for M i use mass of sun 1.99*10^30 kg
and for r i use orbital radius of venus =1.08 *x10^11m. WHY? why not mass of venus ??? or why not orbital radius of sun, (which there isn't but what if the question was asking" the speed of the planet earth in its essentially circular orbit around sun)? then earth has orbital radius just like sun , so which one to use???????
Answer my question, dont just solve. because i know how to solve
Explanation / Answer
orbital speed of planet, vo = sqrt(G*M/r)
M---> mass of the sun
r--> radius of the orbit(distance betwee sun and the planet)
