Question

In the following figure the magnetic field is decreasing in magnitude. In which direction is current in the loop? The loop shown in the figure is traveling to the right with constant velocity. The magnitude of the magnetic field is represented by the B field lines. In which direction is the current induced in the loop? The capacitor shown in the figure has a dielectric slab inserted into it. The slab has two types of dielectric, one with K1 and another with K2 middot The dimensions of each is shown in the figure below. If t he capacitance without any dielectric is C, what is the capacitance after this slab is inserted?

Explanation / Answer

According to faraday's law if rate of change of magnetic field is positive(i.e, if magnetic field is increasing) the the current flows in anti clock wise direction

and similarly if rate of change of magnetic field is negative(i.e, if magnetic field is decreasing) the the current flows in clock wise direction

1)

from above since here magnetic field is decreasing current is in clock wise direstion

2)

here magnetic field is increasing current is in anti clock wise direction

3)
