Let us first find the time ‘t’ at which it hits the ground,

Use kinematic equation,

h=Vi*t+1/2*a*t2

-4=5.54*t+1/2*-9.8*t2          => t= 1.63s

Distance away from the ball = d= V*t = 3.31*1.63 = 5.4 m

Question 2:

Vix=0.771m/s

Viy=0m/s

h=0.304 m

Use kinematic equation along vertical,

Vfy2= Viy2+2*a*h = 02 +2*-9.8*-0.304         => Vfy = -2.8m/s
