Question

So from reading attached I need a pre-lab which it should have a pre lab title, a purpose, protocol, and possibly a small conclusion. It should be at least 1 to 1 ½ page. See the photo for reference (bel0w) Its just doing a step by step process on the reading from the article attached. And following the pre-lab guide shown below: (Thanks in Advance).

BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY 9B1 BACTERIA, ARCHAEA |9B FUNGI, PROTISTS Victoria M. Hittinger and Jerome A. Montvilo The contribution of visible life to biodiversity is very small indeed -Sean Nee The microbe is so very small You cannot make him out at all, But many sanguine people hope To see him through a microscope Hilaire Belloc, The Microbe, from More Beasts for Worse Children, 1900 There's a Fungus Among Us! -Richard Stevenson, title of poem that includes the line "A humongous fungus among us" If there are any microbes reading this book, I apologize for my presumptuousness and insensitivity -David Grinspoon, Lonely Planets: The Natural Philosophy of Alien Life, 2003 1. INTRODUCTION Estimates of the number of species present on Earth range from a few million up to about 30 million. Whatever the actual number may be, one thing is clear: the bulk of the biodiversity on this planet is made up of organisms that are easy to overlook. Indeed, most of those organisms are microscopic, making it difficult for the non- biologist even to be aware of some of them. The purpose of this exercise is to make you aware of them (The general term "microbe" can be used to describe these microscopic organisms, although the term is most often applied to bacteria and other such "germs". In recent years, the field of microbiology, which studies these microscopic organisms, has become much more the study of bacteria; however, the original scope of the field covered most of the organisms to be covered here as well as microscopic organisms studied in other exercises.) No attempt will be made here to outline a detailed taxonomy of the groups to be studied below. (Some of this was already covered in the introduction to biodiversity exercise and that exercise should be reviewed before moving on.) The organisms studied in this exercise will be divided into four groups, the bacteria, the archaea, the fungi, and the protists

Explanation / Answer

Ans-

Prelab- characterisation of various kingdoms.

Purpose- in today's lab we will learn about the characteristic of the various kingdoms living on the earth. This will help us in distinguishing one kingdom from another kingdom. There are some fixed identification features which are necessary for the individual identification.

Protocol- Read the attached seat carefully

Prepare a comparison table which show different features .

Remember these features and these will help in categorization.

Conclusion- a knowledge of these characters will help in categorization and identification of the organisms and their related group and kingdom.
