If the wires connecting the experiment to its power source have a total resistance (for all wires) of 0.6 and the power supply has an interenal resistance of 0.7 , what must you design the EMF of the power source to be?

let the EMF required be EMF

power required , P = 3 W

voltage , V = 8 V

then , current required , I = P/V

I = 0.375 A

resistance of the wires , r = 0.6 + 0.7

r = 1.3 ohm

EmF required , EMF = V + I*r

EMF = 8.49 V

the EMF of the power source is 8.49 V
