Hemophilia A is an X-linked inherited recessive disorder. It is due to a mutation in the clotting factor VIII.
14. Hemophilia is a recessive disorder. So, females must carry both the the mutant alleles in order to exhibit the mutant phenotype. On the other hand, a single mutant allele is sufficient to cause mutant phenotype in males as they are hemizygous for the X-chromosome.
If a mother is a carrier, half of her sons are going to be affected and half of her daughters will be carriers (assuming father carries a WT allele)
