This DNA needs to be transcribed into an RNA molecule and then translated into a protein, and so a cell (and life) forms.  This suggests that the origin of life happened when DNA was first created.  However, many scientists propose that life started with RNA, calling their hypothesis the "RNA World." Discuss who was first: DNA or RNA? (This is analogous to the question of who was first: the chicken or the egg?).

RNA (Ribose Nucleic Acid) are of 3 major Types [mRNA, tRNA, rRNA] . mRNA (messenger RNA) carry genitic information from one generation to next generation, tRNA help in formation of proteins from mRNA with the help of ribosomes. However signal stranded RNA was unstable and easily damaged by enzymes soDNA comes into the scene .    DNA (Deoxy Ribose Nucleic Acid) is a double stranded carry genetic informations from one generation to next. At the time of replication of DNA first RNA template strand is formed then it is replaced by DNA (DNA have Deoxy Ribose sugar, and thiamine at the place of uracil ).So DNA is more stable as compare to RNA. DNA carry genetic informations from one generation to next except some viruses. Viruses have RNA as a genetic material.
