Question
In the figure, a light ray in air is incident at angle ?1 on a block of transparent plastic with an index of refraction of 1.58. The dimensions indicated are H = 2.16 cm and W = 3.40 cm. The light passes through the block to one of its sides and there undergoes reflection (inside the block) and possibly refraction (out into the air).This is the point of first reflection. The reflected light then passes through the block to another of its sides—a point of second reflection. If ?1 = 39.3°, on which side is the point of (a) first reflection and (b) second reflection? If there is refraction at the point of (c) first reflection and (d) second reflection, give the angle of refraction; if not, enter “0.” If ?1 = 70.7°, on which side is the point of (e) first reflection and (f) second reflection? If there is refraction at the point of (g) first reflection and (h) second reflection, give the angle of refraction; if not, enter “0.”
I only need answer of (e) (f)(g) and (h) please thank you

The point of first reflection will be at a ray of light wich is incident ie on the side of H
second reflection will be on the side parallel to H
1 )When there is refraction at the point of first reflection and second reflection then angle of refraction can be calculated using Snell's law of refraction given by
n = Sin i/ Sin r--------------(1)
where n is the refractive index = 1.58
i is the angle of incident ray = 39.30
substituting in eqn (1) we get
1.58 x Sin r = 0.6333
Sin r = 0.400
r = Sin-1(0.400) = 23.63
in terms of degress and radians it is written as r = 23037minutes(23 degrees abd 37 minutes)
2) For the second question also the point of first reflection will be towards H side ie 21.6cm and the point of second reflection will be towards W side ie 3.40cm
again applying snells law of refraction and taking i = 70.70and substituting in eqn (1) we have
Sin r = 0.5973
r = Sin-1(0.5973) = 36.67
in terms of degree and minutes we can write as 36040minutes (36 degress and 40 minutes)
