Question

The figure shows a uniform 4t magnetic field that is normal to the plane of conducting circular loop with resistance of 1.32 and radius 0.025m the magnetic field is directed out of the paper. The area of the non circular portion of the wire is negligible compared to that if the circular loop

-What is the magnitude of the average induced emf in the loop if the magnitude of the magnetic field is doubled in 0.25s

-What is the magnitude and direction of the current around the loop if the magnitude of the magnetic field is doubled in 0.25s

Explanation / Answer

Chnage in magnetic field is dB = (2*4)-(4) = 4T

time dt = 0.25 S

induced emf e = A*dB/dt = (3.142*0.025^2)*4/0.25 = 0.03142 V
------------------------------------------

Current i = e/R = 0.03142/1.32 = 0.0238 A

Direction is counterclockwise according to lenz's law
