Explanation / Answer

1.1.

Prokaryotic cells lack membrane enclosed organelles.

Prokaryotic cells are smaller than eukaryotic cells. They have size range of 0.1 - 5µm and 10- 100µm respectively.

1.2.

Prokaryotic organisms belong either to the domain Archaea or Bacteria; organisms with eukaryotic cells belong to the domain Eukarya.

Four divisions of Eukarya domain are: Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia

The kingdom of Eukarya that includes human is Animalia.

Eukarya called protists are less closely related to other eukaryotic cells then they are to plants, animals or fungi.

1.3.

A hypothesis is a uncertain statement that proposes a promising explanation to some phenomenon or event. A useful hypothesis is a testable statement, which may include a prediction it should not be confused with a theory.

We can never test all alternatives therefore a hypothesis can never be proven.

A controlled experiment compared the experimetal group(s) to the control group.

The variable which can be manipulated is called independent variable.

The variable which is measured in experiment is called dependent variable.

A hypothesis is an idea or thought about what is going to happen before an experiment starts which a theory is conclusion after a number of experiments. A theory is always supported by evidence while hypothesis is only suggested possible outcome. A theory is well tested and hypothesis must be testable.

2.1

Carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen are the four elements that make up 96% of all living matter.
