i need some examples. HELP
Explanation / Answer
An example for artifact relating human and environment is the famous DRINKING BIRD toy. In this bird keeps dunking its head or beak into water container and so, keeps on absorbing water till it is there but when the container is empty the bird becomes still. This can serve as connection between human and environment. Bird represents human race, water container represents environment and water represents environmental resources. Just like that bird, humans keep on picking up the required substances from the environment and is not doing any effort to renew them such as humans are creating pollution but are not planting enough trees. This way of survival is possible only till those resources exist. Once the environmental resources get exhausted (as the water in container is used up), the human race will come to end (as the bird becomes still). This artifact inspires us to understand our duties towards the environment and to do the efforts to replenish the resources such as decreasing pollution and replenishing water table by planting as much trees as possible.
Another example could be articles made of modelling clay. All the articles made of modelling clay can be broken up and remodelled easily. It does not leaves any cracks or impressions of the previous article made from that. This represents the circulation of material resources like water, oxygen, carbondioxide etc which keep on circulating in environment such as forest. This indicates that humans are not the indispensible part of environment. It can go perfectly without human beings and so humans should not try to create imbalance by its activities. An example could be a small plant releasing oxygen which is taken up an animal which inturn exhales carbon dioxide being taken up by that plant.
