Question
What would occur to gene expression if all of the chromatin remodeling complexes were removed from the cell?
Question 9 options:
Gene expression regulation would be reduced; some proteins would be expressed more and some would be expressed less
The structure of mitotic chromosomes would become very loose
All genes would be expressed constantly
All gene expression would stop

Explanation / Answer
Q.9
If all the chromatin remodeling complexes were removed from the cell
As chromatin remodeling complexes are defined as the dynamic modification of architecture of chromatin which allows access of genomic DNA which condensed to the regulatory transcription machinery of protein and because of which it controls gene expression. so there are some enzymatic modification in complex that includes acetylation, phosphorylation, methylation and ubiquitination which occur primarily at N-terminus so these modification affect the loosening or tightening of the condensed DNA which is wrapped around histone this is about histone methylation whereas the histone acetylation help in relaxing the condensation of chromatin and expose DNA for transcription factor binding which results in the increased gene expression.
so accordingly the structure of mitotic chromosome would become in the there native stage because there will be no acetylation and deacetylation and its native form is compact due to tight packing od histone with DNA.
so all gene expression would stop BECAUSE THERE IS NO ACETYLATION BECAUSE OF REMOVAL OF THAT COMPLEX SO TRANSCRIPTION CANNOT HAPPEN IN TIGHTLY PACKED DNA FRAGMENT
