Displacement covered in x direction= - 2miles + 10 cos45= 5.07 i

Dispalcement covered in y direction = 4.5 + 10 sin 45 = 11.57 j

Displacement vector = 5.07 i + 11.57 j

b) Tottal distanc e= 2 + 4.5 + 10 = 16.5 miles
