Question
Find the vertical, horizontal, and oblique asymptotes, if any, for the given rational function. Q(x) = 5x^2 - 13x - 6/3x^2 - 7x - 6 Select the correct choice below and fill in any answer boxes within your choice. The vertical asymptote(s) is/are x = (Use a comma to separate answers as needed. Use integers or fractions for any numbers in the expression.) There is no vertical asymptote. Select the correct choice below and fill in any answer within your choice. The horizontal asymptote(s) is/are y = (Use a comma to separate answers as needed. Use integers or fractions for any numbers in the expression.) There is no horizontal asymptote. Select the correct choice below and fill in any answer boxes within your choice. The oblique asymptote(s) is/are y = (Use a comma to separate answers as needed. Use integers or fractions for any numbers in the expression.) There is no oblique asymptote.Explanation / Answer
The answer could be found using snells law:-
The ration of sines of angle of incidence and angle of refraction is equal to the ration of reciprocal of refractive index of 2 medium
Sin Q1 /Sin Q2 = n2/n1
we all know refractive index of water(1.33) is more than air (1).
so Q1> Q2
Hence focal length increases when lense is immersed in water
