Question
I don't know how to do part D only of the problem. if you could please show your work for part D, it would be appreciated.
4. You push a l 5 kg box across a floor with a onefficient of friction bak a coeffickent of friction j 0.55. (a) Draw a resolved fr-body dingram for the box while you are pushing it. What is the minimum force you need to koep the bex moving with a velocity of 2.0 m/s? h a constanit f 10 m? What ?(d) While pushing the box with constant velocity, you encounter a smooth frictionless ing with a co ) How much work do you do in moving the box through a distance o power do you generate in doing this work? incline which makes an angle of 8° with the horizontal. You stop pushing the box at the bottom of the incline and watch it go up and eventually stop. How far up the incline does the box travel?Explanation / Answer
Here ,
for part D)
as the initial speed of the block , u = 2 m/s
let the distance travelled up the incline is d
theta = 8 degree
Using conservation of energy
as there is no friction
0.5 * m * v^2 = m * g * d * sin(theta)
0.5 * 2^2 = 9.8 * d * sin(8)
d = 1.47 m
the box will travel 1.47 up the incline
