Question
motion of a forced spring-mass system given the ODE:
mrac{d^{2}x}{dt^{2}} + crac{dx}{dt} +kx = Fsin(wt)
CAN'T ASSUME 'F' IS ZERO.
x = displacement from equilibrium
0 ? t ? 15 s
m = 20 kg
damping coefficients, c = 5 (underdamped), 40 (critically damped), 200 (over-damped)
spring constant, k = 20 N/m
plot displacement vs time for each of the three values of the damping coefficient.
I'm stuck and need help for where I went wrong.
function dy = dyat ( t , y,n,k,c) dy end 2- [y(2),(F*sin(wat) = + c(i).xy ( 2 ) k*y ( 1 ) ) /m]; +Explanation / Answer
In the second line of the program, you are referring to Y(2) and Y(1), I suppose they are not predefined in the program as i can see it and also the case of c(i) , as i dont see any looping over variable 'i'... Rest of these look fine...
