Question

An object of mass m kg is thrown upward with a velocity of 70m/s. What is the KC of the ball after 4 sec? g=10m/s^2. A car moving at a velocity F=40m/s, runs out of gas at a height of h~5 m from ground and starts to coast down the hill and coasts up the other side ol hill. What maximum height H. it can climb? 15 m (B) 50 m (C) 75 m (D) 80 in (E) 85 m Which one is equivalent to 30 m/s? 90.5 km/h (B) 108 km/h (C) 86.4 km/h (D) 72.9 km/h (E) 118.8 km/h Mass M_1 is moving at a velocity V_1 in +x direction and hits another mass M_2 moving in x direction at velocity V_2. After collision, both mass stuck together and starts moving at velocity V in +,v direction. Write down the momentum equation. What is FI (A) 14.14 N (B) 11.55 N (C) 20 N (D) 23.10 N (E) None A box of mass 2 kg slides along a horizontal, frictionless surface with a speed of 3.0 m/s. The box encounters a spring with k = 600 N/m. Mow far is the spring compressed when the box is brought to rest? (A) 0.17 m (B) 0.67 m (C)0.11 m (D)0.19 m (E) 0.61 m A 0.45 meter long violin string is tuned to play at 440 Hz. What is the wavelength of the sound in centimeter? Assume sound velocity in air is 300 m/s. (A) 0.68 cm (B) 68 cm (C) 86 cm (D) 118 cm (E) 91 cm A rectangular door of length 1 meter is attached to a hinge on the ground. The door is raised 30 degree-above the horizontal and dropped. What is its angular acceleration right after it is dropped? The moment of inertia (I) of the door is Mr^2/3. A 300 gram cold water of 32degree C is mixed with 800 gram of hot water of 100degree C. What would be the mixture temperature? Ignore the container in this process.

Explanation / Answer

29) v=40 m/sec

mv^2/2+mgh = mgH.
H = h +v^2/2g =5 +80 =85 m.

30)

=30 m/sec * (1km/1000m)*(3600sec/1hr)

= 108 km/hr.

31)

after collision both will move in same direction with same velocity, but before collision M1 is moving in

positve x direction and M2 is moving in negative x direction, therefore,

M1V1-M2V2= M1V+M2V is correct answer.

32)

Fy= Fsin(theta)

==> F= Fy/ sin(theta)

F= 20 / sin(30)

=> F= 40 N
