What are the types of theories about the origin of life and explain? What were the experiments to test these theories? How did life arise? How is diversity due to evolution? What makes something alive? Which Macromolecules are important to our diet? Provide examples. What makes a reaction spontaneous? What is the significance of Carbon? Explanation / Answer

Hi

as per our regulation, first full question is answered. The questions 1 and 2 are interrelated and hence both are solved as one.

There are 6 major theories of origin of life on earth.
1. Theory of special creation: This theory proposes that GOD created this earth and its life with his supernatural powers. This theory believes that all living forms were created at once and thus does not believe in evolution. However, this thory has no experimental evidence so forth. This theory does not explain the how different fossils are dated back to different time zones separated over millions of years.
2. Theory of spontneous evolution: This theory states that abiotic or non living material spontaneously gave rise to life. There are few evidences to support this theory such as , 1. Hair of horse tail dipped in the water gives rise to horsehair worm, gordius. 2. Fly larvae develops on rotten meat. however there exsts several strong objections to this theory including the one very famous Louis pasteur S tube experiment.

3. Theory of catstrophism: It is an extension of theory of spontaneous evolution. This teory assumes that cycle of catstrophy and creation are responsible for evolving of different types of organisms on earth. There is no scentific evidence to support this theory.

4. Theory of cosmozoic: This theory believes in the origin of life from other planet. life was flown onto earth surface as spores , since the earth was fertile the spores germinated giving rise to life. however we are unable to find any other planet with life supporting system or functional life. No evidence to prove this thoery.

5. theory of eternity of life.: this theory states that life has no beginning or end. life was ever existing and continue to exist on earth. There are no evidences to prove this. This theory cannot explain what life existed 4.7 billion years ago when the earth was not yet formed.

6. Modern theory: also called chemical theory or theory of primary abiogenesis. Its main pont is non living things can give rise to life in the primitive earth, the prmitive earth conditions being different from present world abiogenesis does not take plac now. This theory was put forward by haldane and oparin.
Evidence: Haldane experiment: different basic chemicals such as methane, ammonia and hydrogen in 2:2:1 raio and heated at 800C. To this high voltag electricity was conducted to resemble premitive earth. This treatment gave rise to new amino acids such as alanine, glycine, aspartic acid, nitrogen base adenine and simple sugar ribose.
