1. Algae:-- Simple aquatic plants, photosynthetic with no vascular organs and non embrophytes.
2. Bryophtes :-- Complex than Algae, no vascular organs but Embrophytes and first to visit on land.
Now let's have a look on there complexity:--
*Morphology:-- Algae may be unicellular, filamentous or can be of different type. But,
Bryophytes:-- Multicelluar with advancement in there morphology like rgizoids like root, scales, Archegoniophore as well Anthrediophore, so on these structures are there to establish themton land.
* HABITAT:-- Algae in water but Bryophytes were first to establish to land.
*Asexual reproduction:-- Different structures are there:-
For algae:-- zoospores, aplanospores,exospores, endospores, heterocys in blue green algae.
For bryophtes:-- Gammae cups
*SEXUAL REPRODUCTION:-- SEXUAL reproduction in algae occurs but zygote will be for short time then zygotic meiosis will be there and haploid spores give rise to haploid plant. No embryo is there.
But Bryophtes:-- Zygote will be for some time and conver into embryos and then meiosis occurs and haploid spores is produced.
