Question

If a calculations is involved, you may show it in the margins in the event that you made a simple math error. Two charged particles are travelling in circular orbits with the same speed in a region of uniform magneticfield that is directed into the page, as shown. The magnitude of the charge on each particle is identical, but the signs of the charges are unequal. Which one of the entries in the table below is correct? A sheet of copper is pulled at constant velocity v from a region that contains a uniform magnetic field. At the instant shown in the figure, the sheet is partially in and partially out of the field. T induced emf in the sheet leads to the eddy current shown. Which one of the following statement concerning the direction of the magnetic field is true? The magnetic field points to the right. The magnetic force points to the left. The magnetic field points into the paper. The magnetic field force points out of the paper. The direction of the magnetic field cannot be determined from the information given.

Explanation / Answer

(1)
In Magnetic Field, Centripetal Force is provided by the Magnetic Field.

m*v^2/r = q*v*B
r = (m*v)/(q*B)

As we know both have, Same speed & Charge
So radius r depends only on mass.
As R1 > R2
Therefore, m1 > m2
By using Right hand thimb rule, We get, Q1 as Negative , while Q2 as positive.

Correct option - (b)

(2)
The Correct Answer is,
The Magnetic Force points to the Left.

Reason,
As the loop is moving out, the current will be induced in such a way so as to counter the effect of moving loop. As Direction of current is clockwise, Magnetic Field must point out of the paper, and so Force on the loop will be towards Left.
