Pressure varies with depth in a fluid media, and its gradient of variation depends on the local density of the fluid and on the local gravitational field.

Because of this, greater pressure exists deeper within the fluid media. This means that the force this pressure applies to the bottom of a submerged object is greater than the force of the fluid pressure applied to the top of the object. This difference in pressure forces applied to the object as a net result creates the force of buoyancy. And with plenty of mathematics, you can show that it is equal in magnitude to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object's submerging.
