Develop a study design (can be observational or experimental) to test your hypothesis. (25 points)
- Describe your site and observations in 1-2 paragraphs (10 points)
- Describe your hypothesis/research question in 1-2 sentences (5 points)
- Describe how you would set up your study in 1-3 paragraphs, paying attention to criteria of good experimental design (10 points)
Explanation / Answer
Site detail:
In order to observe the natural or semi-natural site, I went to the park which was near my home. I observe their lots of greenery, birds, squirrels grass, grasshoppers, frogs and other small creatures. I observe that the temperature of the park was much lesser than the outside.
Hypothesis: temperature decreases due to the greenery in comparison of land.
Setup:
For testing, hypothesis detects the temperature in the street and inside the in daytime and nighttime and record it for ten days.
Then compare the temperature.
Indipendent variable:greenery,time,
Dependant variable:temperature.
Result:
After comparing the mean temperature of park and street.temperature of the park was 20 degree Celsius on the other hand temperature of the street is 29 degree Celsius.
Therefore, the test shows that the hypothesis is valid because the temperature of the park is 9 degree less than the street temperature due to greenery.
