Question
Formulate Newton's Three Laws of Motion What is the force acting on a 10 kg package that falls off the roof? When is the force greater on the top or just before the package hits the ground? A 25 kg child, initially at rest, is pushed horizontally across a frictionless ice pond by his father. Who exerts a 10 N horizontal force on the child. The father is able to continue to exert this force for 4.5 s. What distance does the child move during this time? What force is needed to push (at constant speed) a 20 kg crate up a 32 degree incline if the coefficient of kinetic friction between crate and incline is 0.20? A 0.35 N force is applied to a 2.2 kg object, initially at rest. The resulting acceleration is In the figure shown, m_A = 1.5 kg, m_B = 0.50 kg, and the coefficient of kinetic friction between m_B and the horizontal surface is 0.22. Find the acceleration of the system if the pulley I frictionless. A 50 kg box rests on a 35 degree incline. What is the smallest coefficient of static friction between the box to remain at rest? Find the speed of a 2.0 kg mass undergoing circular motion with radius 10 cm caused by a 40 N force In figure shown, M = 100 g, alpha = 42 degree and beta = 55 degree. Find the tension T in the right side of the figure Find the gravitational force of attraction between two 100 kg human beings whose centers of mass are separated by 60 cm.Explanation / Answer
1) Every body continues in the state of rest or of uniform motion until unless it was compelled by the external Force
i.e if a body was moving with constant velocity or at rest ,accelaration is a = 0
then F = 0
2) F = m*a
3) action = -reaction
ii) Force acting is W = m*g = 10*9.8 = 98 N
always that force is same , because force is W = m*g,this Force W depends on g which is a constant
iii) F = 10 N
m = 25 kg
accelaration is a = F/m = 10/25 = 0.4 m/s^2
time taken is t = 4.5 sec
initial speed is Vo = 0 m/sec
Using
S = (Vo*t) +(0.5*a*t^2)
S = (0*t) +(0.5*0.4*4.5^2)
S = 4.05 m
