Question

explain them if you can!
thank you!

An object with a mass of 2 kg is moving along a horizontal surface with velocity components v 4 m/s and v,--3.5 m/s. What is the objects speed? What is its kinetic energy? (2 points) 1. 2. What is meant by the statement "Energy is conserved"? (2 points) 3. Tarzan swings on a 30.0-m-long vine initially inclined at an angle of 37 with the vertical. What is e swings if he starts from rest?( 4. Show that the slope of the graph: (-vs h) is negative gravitational acceleration. Use the Law of Conservation of Energy to derive it. (3 points)

Explanation / Answer

Given :

Horizontal component velocity vx = 4 m/s

Vertical component of velocity vy = -3.5 m/s

Speed s = sqrt(vx2 + vy2)

= sqrt (42 + (-3,5)2)

= 5.315 m/s

KE = ½*m*s2

= 1/2*2*5.3152

= 28.25 J
