Please explain in the discussion forum how you believe this statements relates to climate models and what the quotation means.

And, more importantly, please share other good quotations you have found about climate change. This quotation can come from the internet, radio, TV, movies, etc. Be sure to include a reference and a link to the quotation, if possible. What quotations have resonated with you?

Explanation / Answer

"All models are wrong related to climate models" that is, every model is wrong because it is a simplification of reality. There are some assumptions made to simplify it.For example, a climate model can give us the information that it will be cold in winter, but it cannot give the information on what will be the temperature on a particular day.

"But some are useful" - nevertheless it provides the trend on the climate of the region.

Some quotations

“If we want a good environmental policy in the future we’ll have to have a disaster.”

"the world is running out of time to head off catastrophic climate change…now is the time to act.”

"we are rapidly running out of time to cap carbon emissions.”

"A global climate treaty must be implemented even if there is no scientific evidence to back the greenhouse effect."
