Hypothesis #1- The home range size of male vole is influenced more by its access to females such that its home range size decreases when more females are available and increases when females densities are lower.
Hypothesis #2- The home range size of a male vole is influenced more by competition with other males such that its home range size decreases with increasing densities of males and increases when male densities are lower.
Do your results of this experiment support or reject your hypothesis?
Explanation / Answer
The experiment supports both the hypothesis. As per the results obtained from the experiment, the home range size of males will expand to mate with more females and that too up to a certain point i.e 5 females but when females become few in number, there will occur competition among other males and this will decrease the expansion of home size by males.
