What I did in

Part a

Rounding to significant figures, I put 19m/s, but the online homework said, "Incorrect."

The correct answer was 18.5m/s.

Part b

Rounding to sig fig, I put 26 rev/min, but the online homework told me "Incorrect."

The correct answer was 25.2rev/min.

So the real question is: why is the answer in 3 sig figs, not 2 sig figs?

the number of significant figures gives the more acuracy and precision of numbers

so here by choosing 3 significant fifures than the 2 significant figures,it gives more accurate and precise values of a number

for part B) if we substitute v = 18.5 m/sec instead of 19 m/sec we will 25.2 rev/min

w = v/r = 18.5/7 = 2.64 rad/sec = 2.64*(60/(2*3.142)) = 25.2 rev/min
