Question
I need help on number 5 Rewrite the following vectors in terms of their magnitude and angle (counterclockwise from the x direction) 1) A displacement vector with an x component of 9.3 m and a y component of -9.4 m magnitude: 13.2 Submit 2) angle: 314.7 Submit 3) A velocity vector with an x component of -94 m/s and a y component of +45 m/s magnitude: 104.2 m/s Submit 4) angle: 154.4 Submit 5) X force vector with a magnitude of 57 lb that is in the third quadrant with an x component whose magnitude is 36 lb.Explanation / Answer
1) vector = D = 9.3 x^ - 9.4 y^
Magnitude = sqrt[9.3^2 + 9.4^2] = 13.2 m
2) Angle = Arctan(-9.4/9.3) = 314.7 degree
3) Magnitude = V = sqrt[94^2 + 45^2] = 104.2 m/s
4) Angle = Arctan(-45/94) = 154.4 Degree
5) 57 = sqrt[36^2 + y^2] =========> y = 44.2 lb
