Question

1.Find the minimum initial speed vi so that the car travels at leasta distance d before heading downhill?

2.Given the initial speed you found in part 1, how much time does ittake for the car to travel the distance d?

Inthis problem, I did not give you any numbers. However, I want youto assume that the quantities m, d, , and g are given toyou. In the two parts of the problem, I want you to express theinitial

speed and time in terms of these “known”quantities.

Insolving this problem I want you to use the approach outlined inSection 1.2 of your text. The steps include: stating the goal, stating given information, stating assumptions, drawing appropriatediagrams, formulating equations, solving, and checking results.Your work must have all these elements.

Explanation / Answer

It should be 130 since west would be the negative x axis, east thepositive x axis. i am reading north 50 west as 50 degrees north ofwest. that would make it 50 degrees going from the west/negative xaxis towards the positive x axis. negative x axis is 180 degrees. 180-50 = 130 everything else looks good Hopefully this helps
