Question

hi, i have a physics question that I would really need somehelp on. it says, a 0.004kg coin rests on a closed book on a table. Thecoefficient of starting friction between the coin and the book'scover is 0.20; the coefficient of sliding friction is 0.15. A)If the cover of the book is slowly opened at what angle ofinclination will the coin begin to slide? B)What will be the coin's acceleration just after it startsmoving? Can someone please help me with this.......(^o^)/~ hi, i have a physics question that I would really need somehelp on. it says, a 0.004kg coin rests on a closed book on a table. Explanation / Answer

When the book is open at the angle, say alpha. So the normal Force the book acts on it is equal to the gravityforce in that direction (x) N=mgcos(alpha) and if the coin just start to move, it mean that the gravity forcein the direction y which is perpendicular to the other one is equalto Nk with k is the coefficient of starting friction. so mgcos(alpha)k=mgsin(alpha)-->tan(alpha)=0,2 ->alpha=11,3 Since it starts to move so the coefficient now is have to be ofsliding to be true. so F=mgsin(alpha) - mgcos(alpha)*0.15=ma -> a = g(sin(alpha)-cos(alpha)*0.15)˜0,5(m/s^2)
