Question
Hello! Here's the question I'm stuck on:"This summer, I took a vacation up to Lake Champlain in VT. I went out on
the lake in a speedboat and noticed my friend, Heidi, walking her dog along the side of the lake. The speedboat was moving at about 40 mph relative to the water at about 30° angle with respect to the shore, in a south-westerly direction. Heidi was walking south along the shore at a pretty fast pace. Estimate my speed from Heidi’s perspective (what is my velocity relative to Heidi?)."
I know it's going to make a triangle and from there I have to figure out the vector component pieces, but I'm not sure how it's supposed to look or to which side the 40 mph belongs to. Basically, it's the set up for the problem that's confusing me. Any help would be appreciated!
