Answer -

Micro plastics are small plastic particles in the environment. While there is some contention over their size, the U.S. National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration classifies micro plastics as less than 5 mm in diameter. They can come from a variety of sources, including cosmetics, clothing, and industrial processes.

Plastic is classified into six classes -

polyethylene (PE)

polypropylene (PP)

polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

polystyrene (PS)

polyurethane (PUR) and

polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

The most plastic materials present in micro plastics are - Polyethylene (PE) – Approximate 79% & Polypropylene (PP) – Approximate 64%
