5.6) Answer: To reduce the traffic congestion in urabn areas firstly we should adopt intelligent transpot system, which helps in congestion free moevment of traffic, the different practices are as listed here.
1. The reason for trip genertion should be evaluaed and a propper study should be carried out to to reduce the rate of trip generation.
2. Long span bridges should be constructed to have end to end connectivity between the places or landmarks viz, airport, shoping malls, bus stand, business parks, industrial ares, large scale residential societies with highest number of visitors thereby the congestion will reduce.
3. For parking of vehicles highrise building blocks should be used thereby we can have more number of vehicels paked with less land area covered and more number of floors occupied.
4.Car pooling should be adopted thereby the number of commuters remain same but number off vehicels on road are reduced, which gives rise to smooth traffic flow in urban ares.
5. Trucks and heavy vehicles apart from public utilitiy serving vehicles should not be given entry into the urban areas during peak hours threby it reduces the traffic congestion.
6. Traffic flow should be propperly monitored at the bottlenecks of congestion to have a smooth traffic flow.
7.Different public transport services like metro rail, monorail etc should be started to provide end to end connectivity between the city centres so that the to the vehicle using commuters can utilise these facilities thereby the number of vehicels on road and also govenment revenue is incresed.
