Question
4- A meteorological station/tower is set up at a field site to take the following measurements: net radiation at the surface (R), ground (surface) heat flux (G), and air temperature and specific humidity at two different heights within the atmospheric surface layer Ti T2 nd 2 . Measurements taken at noon for a particular day are given below. Note that no surface humidity and temperature data are available. T 1-26,0 gC. T2-24.0 9, q 11.0 g kg", q2-8.6 g kg", G = 40.0 W mr2, Rn - 404.5 W m2. a) Use an appropriate model to compute the latent and sensible heat flux at the measurement time. b) What is the equivalent evaporation rate in units of mm/ day? c) How would you expect the Bowen ratio of an arid (dry) region to compare to that of a wet region at noon on a clear sky day over snow-free bare soil (25/135)?Explanation / Answer
Please provide the area in which the tower is set as with the help of it we can find the evaporation value with the help of bowen's ratio.
After that we can use the evaporation value in the below equation to find the latent and sensible heat flux.
Rn=H+E+G
where,=2.52 JKg-1
With the help of the above equation latent heat flux (E) can be found out and sensible heat flux (H) can also be computed.
