Explanation / Answer

I have given the answers with explanation of my knowlege. Give a thumbs up if right. Further, any doubts are welcomed.

Ques 1. option (b) Nuclear fission.

Though nuclear fusion provides more times energy compared to fission, research is still going on safe controlled implementation of nuclear fusion reaction on large scale.

And, energy from radioactive decay of isotopes are small range and usually used in satellites, space probes and as most desirable power source for robotic or unmaintained situations that need a few hundred watts.

Ques 2. option (b) Biomass

As is provides less energy per gram compared to other energy.

Ques 3. option (d) High cost of harvesting biomass.

Additional work is needed in areas such as harvesting methods. Research is needed to reduce the costs of production of Biomass based fuels.

Ques 4. option (c) must be present in liquid form.

It can be in liquid form like hot aquifer/ gaseous form like hot steam, gases etc.

Ques 5. option (d) all are types.

All the three are types of geothermal extraction.

Ques 6. option (b) biomass

From the options biomass is the best one. Its been revealed that Hydroelectric power generation releases some amount of C02 and methane into atmosphere. And we know Hydrothermal releases the gases present long with them during production.

Growing Biomass crops produce oxygen and use up carbon dioxide. Also Carbon Dioxide which is released when Biomass fuel is burned, is taken in by the same plants. so zero emission.

Ques 7. option (a) Hydropower

Simple. rest of the options have nothing to do with river flow and aquatic ecology.

Ques 8. option (c) Biomass

This energy is usually directly used a heat energy without any conversion to electrical energy as the energy obtained is comparatively low to do conversion. Turbine is required only during conversion.
