Question
A company is deciding whether to use a personality test in their employee selection process. As a consultant, you have been asked to tell the company what proportion of their hiring decisions would be correct if they used the test. Their criterion for success is sales greater than 10,000, and their criterion for hiring would be a score greater than 12 on the test. Here are their data from their current employees. The first number is the employee's score on the test, and the second is that employee's sales (in thousands).
Explain your work.
1. 14, 9
2. 8, 11
3. 13, 17
4. 16, 12
5. 7, 9
6. 11, 8
7. 9, 14
8. 15, 12
9. 11, 9
10. 13, 11
Explanation / Answer
So mean of the employee's score is (total score)/10=11.7 and mean of the employee's sales is (total sales)/10=11.2
now less score of mean from original hireing score is 12-11.7=0.3.
best score for hireing is lie between the interval (11.7-0.3, 12)= (11.4, 12)
and similarly mean high sales compair to the required sales is 11.2-10=1.2
best sales is lie between the interval is (11.2-1.2, 11.2+1.2)= (10, 12.4).
