I think the answer is it can't be accelerating. refer to newton's 2nd law F = m*a If total force is zero then acceleration is zero. So it cannotaccelerate. On the other hand it doesn't mean that it cannot move.Acceleration is not something neccessary for motion. Consider themotion with constant speed. In that case a = 0 as well as in thissituation. So zero accel. doesn't mean no motion it only means thatyour velocity is constant during the motion. If your velocity was10 m/s it stays same forever if forces acting you balance eachother. lets go over eery part: a) No. this is not true. even forces add up tozero, an object still can rotate since rotation does notdepend o the force but torque. b) No. not true as well. explanation same as in part a. it isa function of torque (or some people also call it moment instead oftorque) c) No. this is explained in the beginning. d) yes since net force is zero F=ma => accelerationhas to be zero as well. nice question Enjoy itRelated Questions
