Question
The question:Does increasing the velocity of a projectile cause the projectileto take more time to land compared to its usual velocity, less, orequal too?
I did a simulation of this online. When I decreased the velocity, the projectile took less time than the originial; when I increasedthe velocity, it took more time. Why does this happen? Anything todo with the force? The mass of the projectile remains the same. I'dappreciate if anyone could help me out with understanding howchanging the velocity affects projectile landing time. Thanks!
Explanation / Answer
By increasing veocity of a projectile it take more time toland compared to its usual velocity . Because time of flight of the projectile T = 2 vsin / g T v Note : Horizontal component of velcoity does not variesbecause there is no accleration along horizontal .But the verticalcomponent of velocity decreses when it reaches the masimumheight positon and it becomes zero at maximum height and it aginincreases from maximum height to landing point ------Related Questions
