For the given problem, practically you can't use conservation of momentum, since including the earth in your system would lead tounnecessary complications in terms of mass. Considering the mass of the earth as infinite as compared tothe ball's mass (which is quite reasonable) The height h would come out to be 10m again, since v=u If you consider the ball to be your system, considering the force of interaction between you can't conserve momentum. If the collision is given to be elastic, you must assumeh=10m otherwise, taking coefficient of restitution e, v = e*u So, (2gh) = e(2*g*10) So, h = 10e2
