the difference between the emf and potntial difference isthat
emf= the potential around the terminals of the batterywhen no current is passing through it
potential difference = the amount of work done inmoving a unit positive chargefrom one point to nother keeping thecharge in electrostatics equilibrium
OR the potential across the external circuitwhen current is passing through it
NOTE emf is the potential across theexternal resistor as well as the internal resistance soalso emf exist even when no current is flowing but when no currentis flowing the n the potential or terminal potential is zero
