Question

Regarding problem 41, shouldn't the answer be that theship isn't gonna move at all. The fan creates a stream of wind that collides into thesail thereby passing it's momentum to the ship, making it go forward. However, the force (stream of wind) thatthe fan produces has a opposite and equalreaction which makes the ship move in the other direction.* Sincethese forces cancel each other out, shouldn't the ship be moving atall. *This is how an air boat works, whichindirectly solves problem 43; it's a better idea to remove thesail in it's entirety. Thanks in advance. Regarding problem 41, shouldn't the answer be that theship isn't gonna move at all.
