Question
Regarding problem 41, shouldn't the answer be that theship isn't gonna move at all. The fan creates a stream of wind that collides into thesail thereby passing it's momentum to the ship, making it go forward. However, the force (stream of wind) thatthe fan produces has a opposite and equalreaction which makes the ship move in the other direction.* Sincethese forces cancel each other out, shouldn't the ship be moving atall. *This is how an air boat works, whichindirectly solves problem 43; it's a better idea to remove thesail in it's entirety. Thanks in advance. Regarding problem 41, shouldn't the answer be that theship isn't gonna move at all. I'm not really following you, can you explain it a bit simpler (I'm an amateur).
