Question
PLEASE help me with the right answer! Thank you so much!!! Other one on Chegg is wrong? This is my last chance to get it right....? :(
Part B
Consider a population of frogs. Allele B1codes for spotted frogs; allele B2codes for non-spotted frogs. B1is dominant to B2.
· The allele frequencies on the mainland are B1 = 0.75 and B2 = 0.25.
· The allele frequencies on the island are B1= 0.55 and B2 = 0.45. There are 170 frogs on the island.
During a storm, 30 non-spotted frogs come to the island by floating on debris. What are the new frequencies of B1and B2on the island?
Enter your answer as two numbers (each to two decimal places), separated by a comma. (Example: 0.56, 0.44)
Explanation / Answer
Given B1-spotted frog,, B2-non spotted frog.
frequency on island B1-0.55,B2-0.45
B1=94/70,B2=76/70
due to storm 30 B2frogs added=76+30=106
b1+b2=200 frogs.
therefore the frequencies of the frogs are B-0.47, B2-0.53.
