Question 8 of 12 Map Sapling Learning While placing a compact disc into a CD player, you notice a small chip on it's edge. But you atternpt to play the CD anyway by placing the CD into the player's deck with the chip at 8 16.5° as measured from the +x axis. The CD begins to rotate with angular acceleration 2.49 rad/s2. If the CD has been spinning for 351 s and the disc has a radius of r-600 , what are the x-y coordinates of the chip after this time. assuming the center of the disc is located at (0.00,0.00). Number Number cm O Previous Give Up & View Solution D check Answer O Next ExitExplanation / Answer
0 = 16.5° = (16.5*2*3.14/360)rad
0 = 0.29 rad
t = 3.51s, r = 6cm, = 2.49 rad/s^2
From rotaitonal kinetmatic equation
= o +wt +(1/2)t2
= 0.29 +0 +(1/2)(2.49)(3.51*3.51)
= 15.63 rad
= (15.63*360)/(2*3.14)
= 895.45°
x = rcos = 6cos(895.45) = -5.98 cm
y = rsin = 6 sin(895.45) = 0.48 cm
x–y coordinates of the chip is (-5.98 cm , 0.48 cm)
