Comes to Shove Ch 10 Tutorials When Push « previous | 7 of 12 | ne Two forces, of magnitudes F1 90.0 N and F2 25.0 N, act in opposite directions on a block, which sits atop a frictionless surface, as shown in the figure Figure 1) Initially, the center of the block is at position i 6.00 cm At some later time, the block has moved to the right, and its center is at a new position, Zr=400 Part A Find the work Wi done on the block by the force of magnitude Fi 90 0 N as the block moves from z 6.00 cm to 400 cm Express your answer numerically, in joules Hints Figure 1 of1 Submit My Answers Give Up Part B + x Find the work W2 done by the force of magnitude F2 25.0 N as the block moves from z- 6.00 cm to rt = 4 00 cin Express your answer numerically, in joules Hints Type here to search 11:40 PM ^ dx 9 11/12/2017Explanation / Answer
part a)
Force , F1= 90 N
as the object is moving in the direction of F1
work done is positive
W1 = F1 * (x2 - x1)
W1 = 90 * (0.04 - (-0.06))
W1 = 9 J
the work done in moving the block is 9 J
part b)
Now, for F2
as the object is moving in oposite of the direction of F2
work done is negative
W1 = F2 * (x2 - x1)
W1 = 25 * (0.04 - (-0.06))
W1 = 2.5 J
the work done in moving the block is 2.5 J
