Question
I don't need help with the whole thing, but just need a good start! Perhaps up till how to get the D flip flop equations. I'll be doing the work but I need help.
So I need to design a sequential circuit using a state machine, shift registers, and counters that functions as a simple ping-pong game, using D flip flops. The ping-pong ball will be represented by a single lit LED that moves back and forth across an array of 8 LEDs. A player will hit the ball by pressing a momentary pushbutton switch when the ball is moving toward him and one of the last two LEDs at his end of the array is lit. The ball will then change direction and move toward the opposing player. If a player misses the ball by pressing his switch too early or too late, the opposing player scores a point and will serve for the next point. The first player to score 8 points wins.
Description: 1) The two players are designated L (left) and R (right) and their switches are LPB (left pushbutton) and RPB (right push-button). The array of 8 LEDs implement the ping-pong table.
2) When the circuit is reset, the counters reset to 0 and all LEDs on the ping-pong table will be off. Thus, the score is initially 0-0 and the ball is not in play.
3) The player to serve will be designated by one of two LEDs
